My Story
This is the story of how I destroyed my life and the lives of my precious children because there was no help available to address and heal the trauma that was at the root of my 35-year long battle with drug addiction and mental illness. It is the miraculous story of how my magnificent Savior, Jesus Christ, started speaking to me in a jail cell at the age of 48 to invite me to finally face my pain. It tells of our 10-year journey towards healing a lifetime of unresolved trauma, and my vision to build HOLY SPIRIT HOUSE, which you can read more about below.
Today I have earned my bachelor's degree, and I am the founder of What's Your Wound?, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children heal from trauma.
The Dream: Holy Spirit House
HOLY SPIRIT HOUSE will be a residential treatment facility for women and children who are victims of trauma. We will use animals, the elderly, and holistic forms of treatment to heal the wounds that are at the root of all addiction and mental illness. G.A.S.S.S Groups
Guilt, Grief, and Shame Support Services offers programs to support children and youth and to aid in suicide and violence prevention.
These groups will allow children to actively engage in art and music while giving them a platform to express and process their emotions.
Available online for individual sessions, small groups, organizations, schools, or churches.
